Greg Abbott
Governor
TX Governor
Greg Abbott is Texas's longest-serving sitting governor and one of the most prominent Republican governors in the country. A former Texas Supreme Court justice and state attorney general, he has governed Texas since 2015. He has been paralyzed from the waist down since 1984 when a tree fell on him during a jog. Abbott has pursued aggressive immigration enforcement through Operation Lone Star, overseen a $2 billion school choice program, and faced criticism over the state's power grid following the deadly February 2021 winter storm.
