Gavin Newsom is California's two-term governor and one of the most prominent Democrats in the country, frequently mentioned as a future presidential contender. A former Mayor of San Francisco and California Lieutenant Governor, he won the governorship in 2018 and survived a recall election in 2021 with 62% voting to keep him.
