Jasmine Crockett, a Democrat, has represented Texas's 30th Congressional District in the U.S. House since January 2023 and ran for the U.S. Senate in Texas in 2026, losing the Democratic primary on March 3, 2026. She previously served in the Texas House of Representatives for the 100th district from 2021 to 2023. Crockett earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Rhodes College in 2003 and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2006, and worked as a public defender and civil rights and criminal defense attorney before entering public office.
