Marshall C. Sanford Jr., known publicly as Mark Sanford, is a Republican from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, who is a candidate for the U.S. Senate in South Carolina's 2026 election, per his FEC Form 2 filing. He served as the U.S. Representative for South Carolina's 1st congressional district from 1995 to 2001 and again from 2013 to 2019, and as the 115th Governor of South Carolina from 2003 to 2011. He holds a B.A. from Furman University and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, and previously worked in real estate investment.
