Jacob Ryan, also known as Jake, is a Democratic candidate who filed a Statement of Candidacy with the FEC on May 4, 2026, to run as a challenger for the U.S. Senate in Oregon. He did not appear on the ballot for the May 19, 2026 Democratic primary, which was won by incumbent Jeff Merkley. According to his campaign, Ryan was born in Medford, Oregon, and built companies that assist homeowners with disaster-related insurance claims, FEMA processes, and reconstruction; he is a licensed general contractor in Oregon, Washington, and California, attended the University of Oregon on a Division I football scholarship, and earned an undergraduate degree from Lawrence University and an MBA from the University of the West of England, Bristol.
