Gary Ty England, a country music singer and guitarist, ran as a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Oklahoma in 2026. Born in Oklahoma City, he was a college roommate of Garth Brooks at Oklahoma State University and later served as Brooks's touring guitarist and backup vocalist before launching a solo career in 1995 with RCA Nashville. He finished second in the June 16, 2026 Republican primary, receiving about 14.7% of the vote.
