A Smithfield, North Carolina native, she is a certified K-12 teacher at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction with a professional background in music education. Temple lost the March 3, 2026 Republican primary to Michael Whatley, receiving about 3.8% of the vote. She had previously run unsuccessfully for the North Carolina House in 2024.
