Justin Dues was born in 1985 in Celina, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2003 to 2012, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. After earning an MBA from UNC Charlotte in 2018, he launched a medical device startup. He ran as the Democratic nominee for North Carolina's 8th Congressional District in 2024, losing to Mark Harris, and sought the 2026 Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in North Carolina, finishing second in the primary with 2.7% of the vote.
