Wiley Nickel is an attorney and Democratic politician from Cary, North Carolina, who served in the North Carolina State Senate from the 16th district (2019–2023) and represented North Carolina's 13th Congressional District in the U.S. House (2023–2025). He launched a campaign for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina's 2026 election in April 2025 and, according to FEC registration (candidate ID S6NC00340), had raised more than $2.9 million before withdrawing on July 29, 2025, one day after former Governor Roy Cooper entered the race. Nickel endorsed Cooper for the Democratic nomination and did not appear on the March 3, 2026 primary ballot, according to the North Carolina State Board of Elections candidate list.
