Kurt Alme is a Republican attorney from Great Falls, Montana, who is the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Steve Daines in the November 3, 2026 general election. He served as the United States Attorney for the District of Montana from 2017 to 2020 during the first Trump administration and again from March 2025 through March 4, 2026, when he resigned to file for the Senate race. He previously served as director of the Montana Department of Revenue and as budget director in Governor Greg Gianforte's administration. Alme holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado (1989) and a J.D. from Harvard Law School (1992).
