Priscilla W. Till, a Jackson native and graduate of Jackson State University and Belhaven University, ran as a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Mississippi in 2026. She is a cousin of Emmett Till and founded the Emmett Till Justice for Families Foundation, centering her campaign on civil rights, Medicaid expansion, and rural infrastructure. She finished second in the March 10, 2026 Democratic primary, receiving 18.6% of the vote against Scott Colom.
