Jabarie Walker, a Democrat, filed as a candidate for the U.S. Senate in Louisiana for the 2026 election (FEC ID S6LA00623) and did not appear on the May 16, 2026 Democratic primary ballot. He previously served as Chief of Staff for the Housing Authority of New Orleans, joining the agency's executive team in February 2025. He also served three years as Deputy Chief of Staff for the City of New Orleans, and was later named Assistant City Manager for St. Cloud, Florida.
