James "Jamie" Davis Jr. is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Louisiana's 2026 election, having won the Democratic primary runoff on June 27, 2026 against Gary Crockett and advanced to face Republican Julia Letlow in the November 3, 2026 general election. He is a third-generation Louisiana farmer and small-business owner from Waterproof in Tensas Parish who owns and operates Davis Farms, a more than 2,000-acre operation producing sorghum, corn, soybeans, and cotton on land his grandfather worked as a sharecropper. Davis served four years on the Tensas Parish Police Jury after being elected in 2015 to the District 7 seat, including a term as Vice President, and currently serves on the Louisiana Democratic State Central Committee.
