Amy McGrath is a former United States Marine Corps lieutenant colonel and fighter pilot from Kentucky. She graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1997 and served in the Marine Corps from 1997 to 2017, flying 89 combat missions in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. She was the 2020 Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Kentucky, losing to incumbent Mitch McConnell, and the 2018 Democratic nominee for Kentucky's 6th congressional district, losing to incumbent Andy Barr. In October 2025 she declared her candidacy in the 2026 Democratic primary for U.S. Senate in Kentucky, where she lost the nomination to Charles Booker on May 19, 2026.
