Andy Barr, a Republican, is the U.S. representative for Kentucky's 6th Congressional District, a position he has held since January 2013. He is the 2026 Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Kentucky, running to succeed retiring incumbent Mitch McConnell. Barr is a Lexington native and an attorney who previously served in the administration of Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher.
