Robin Kelly is the U.S. Representative for Illinois's 2nd Congressional District, a Democrat first elected in a 2013 special election. She ran for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Illinois in 2026 to replace retiring Sen. Dick Durbin. Before Congress, Kelly served in the Illinois House of Representatives, was Chief Administrative Officer of Cook County, and served as Chief of Staff to Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias. She holds a B.A. and M.A. from Bradley University and a Ph.D. from Northern Illinois University.
