Juliana Stratton has served as lieutenant governor of Illinois since 2019, having been elected alongside Governor JB Pritzker in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. She previously represented the 5th district in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2017 to 2019, and earlier worked as an attorney and mediator, directing the Cook County Justice Advisory Council and the Center for Public Safety and Justice at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a law degree from DePaul University College of Law. Stratton, a candidate for Dick Durbin's seat, won the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate in Illinois on March 17, 2026, defeating U.S. Representatives Raja Krishnamoorthi and Robin Kelly, and faces Republican Don Tracy, a former Illinois Republican Party chair, in the November general election.
