Alexander Vindman is a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Florida in the 2026 election; Federal Election Commission records show his principal campaign committee, Alex Vindman for Florida, had raised $8,188,391.60 as of the first-quarter 2026 filing period. He is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel who served 21 years in the military, was wounded by an improvised explosive device during a 2004 deployment to Iraq and received the Purple Heart, and later served as Director of European Affairs on the National Security Council. In October 2019 he testified before Congress about a July 2019 phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, testimony that contributed to Trump's first impeachment. In the 2026 race, he is running against Republican incumbent Ashley Moody.
