Lamont Lavender is a U.S. military combat veteran and benefits counselor for the State of Alabama who is running as a write-in candidate for the Democratic nomination in Alabama's 2026 U.S. Senate race to succeed Tommy Tuberville. Born and raised in Eutaw, Alabama, he served in the Alabama National Guard, deploying to Iraq in 2006, and earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of West Alabama and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. He was not certified for the May 19, 2026 Democratic primary ballot due to paperwork issues, according to a March 2026 WVUA-23 interview.
