Before entering politics, Moore grew up on a farm in Coffee County, Alabama, earned an associate degree from Enterprise State Community College and a bachelor's degree in agricultural science from Auburn University in 1992, served in the Alabama Army National Guard, and founded the waste-hauling company Barry Moore Industries in 1998.
