Jared Hudson is a Republican who ran for the U.S. Senate in Alabama in the 2026 election, seeking the seat being vacated by Senator Tommy Tuberville. A former U.S. Navy SEAL, Hudson previously worked as a firefighter and served as a deputy with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and a reserve deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. He founded The Shooting Institute, a business that provides law-enforcement training, and in 2018 co-founded Covenant Rescue, a nonprofit that works with his wife, Lauren, to combat human trafficking. Hudson ran unsuccessfully for Jefferson County Sheriff in 2021, losing to incumbent Mark Pettway, and lost the 2026 Republican U.S. Senate runoff to Rep. Barry Moore on June 16.
