Mark Struthers McBride, a Republican, is running in South Carolina's August 11, 2026 special U.S. Senate Republican primary to fill the seat vacated after the death of Lindsey Graham. He previously served as mayor of Myrtle Beach from 1998 to 2005, and ran unsuccessfully in the 2004 Republican primary for South Carolina's U.S. Senate seat. He also ran in the 2022 Republican primary for South Carolina's 7th Congressional District, receiving about 2 percent of the vote.
