Vince George is the 2026 Democratic nominee for U.S. House in West Virginia's 1st Congressional District, challenging Republican incumbent Carol Miller. According to his campaign, George has lived in West Virginia most of his life and is a retired union member of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. He previously taught at Fairmont State University, Shepherd University, and Martinsburg High School, and was a member of the West Virginia Education Association. His campaign biography also notes work with the West Virginia Environmental Council and West Virginia Citizen Action Group, and service as statewide campaign manager for independent gubernatorial candidate Denise Giardina.
