Matthew Boehnke is a Republican member of the Washington State Senate representing District 8, a position he has held since January 2023. A retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel who served from 1990 to 2011, he earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Washington University and a master's from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He previously served on the Kennewick City Council and in the Washington House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023, and works in cybersecurity education and consulting. He is a candidate for the U.S. House in Washington's 4th Congressional District in the 2026 election.
