Bree Fram is a retired U.S. Space Force colonel and astronautical engineer who filed to run as a Democrat in Virginia's 11th Congressional District in 2026. She served in the U.S. Air Force beginning in 2003, transferred to the Space Force, and retired at the rank of colonel in 2026 after the Trump administration barred transgender people from serving in the military. She holds a bachelor's in aerospace engineering from the University of Minnesota, a master's in astronautical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and a master's in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College. She co-led the Department of the Air Force's LGBTQ+ Initiatives Team and served as president of the military transgender advocacy nonprofit SPARTA Pride from 2021 to 2023.
