Michael Williamson is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel who launched a Democratic primary campaign for Virginia's 2nd Congressional District in 2026. According to his campaign announcement, he served 20 years in the Marine Corps with six overseas tours including Iraq and Afghanistan, and later served at the Pentagon and with NATO. He launched his campaign from Suffolk, where he lives with his wife and two sons.
