James Osyf is a first-generation Ukrainian American who was the Democratic challenger for Virginia's 2nd Congressional District in 2026, suspending his campaign in December 2025. A Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve, he served on the fast-attack submarine USS Norfolk and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, Harvard Kennedy School, and Georgetown Law. He works as a national security executive at Lockheed Martin and resides in Virginia Beach.
