Jason Knapp is the Democratic candidate for Virginia's 1st Congressional District in the 2026 election. According to his campaign, he served 21 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Commander; he was an F/A-18 fighter pilot who flew combat missions over Iraq, later served on NATO's International Military Staff in Brussels, and worked as Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs at U.S. European Command. Ballotpedia reports he holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia (1997) and a graduate degree from Florida State University (2010), and is on the ballot in the August 4, 2026 Democratic primary.
