Ata-Ul-Salaam Bhatti, commonly known as Salaam Bhatti, is an American public-interest attorney running as the Democratic challenger for Virginia's 1st Congressional District in the 2026 election. Born in 1986 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he earned a bachelor's degree from Albright College and a law degree from Touro Law Center. He has worked as a public-interest lawyer at the Virginia Poverty Law Center and as SNAP director for the Food Research and Action Center, and has served as a spokesperson for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA.
