Steven Dowell is a Republican who sought election to Texas' 31st U.S. House District. According to his campaign website, he is a 5th-generation Central Texan, a Baylor University graduate, and a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve who previously served more than eight years on active duty as a U.S. Army Military Police Officer and War Planner. The same site says he later worked three years as a senior product manager at Amazon. Ballotpedia, citing a Candidate Connection survey the candidate submitted, reports he was born in Temple, Texas, and that he lost the March 3, 2026 Republican primary for the seat.
