Mark Charles Teixeira is the Republican nominee for U.S. House in Texas's 21st Congressional District in the 2026 election, having won the March 2026 Republican primary with 60.9 percent of the vote. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2022, two decades after leaving school to play professional baseball. He played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball as a first baseman for the Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels, and New York Yankees, and was part of the Yankees' 2009 World Series championship team.
