Dwayne Stovall (Republican) ran for U.S. House in Texas' 9th Congressional District in 2026 and suspended his campaign before the Republican primary, endorsing fellow candidate Dan Mims. Born in Baytown, Texas, he graduated from West Rusk High School and attended Kilgore Junior College and Southwest Texas State University. He worked at the ARCO refinery for over 13 years before founding Diamond K Equipment Inc. in 1996, a bridge construction firm. He previously ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate in 2014 and 2020 and for U.S. House in 2012 and 2016.
