Deddrick Wilmer (Republican) ran for the U.S. House in Texas' 8th Congressional District in 2026 and lost the March 3 Republican primary with about 1.4% of the vote. The president of a Woodlands-based mortgage servicing firm, he previously worked in finance at Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and JPMorgan Chase, and in 2022 was elected to the board of Harris County MUD District 248.
