Janice C. Beckett is a lifelong Ohioan who ran as a Democratic candidate for U.S. House in Ohio's 10th Congressional District in 2026. Born and raised in Vandalia, she earned a bachelor's degree in music and political science from Ohio Northern University in 1982 and a law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1985. Her campaign biography describes a nearly forty-year career advising senior U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense leaders on defense acquisition and international security cooperation. She finished second in the May 5, 2026 Democratic primary for the seat.
