Alea Nadeem (Republican) is running for the U.S. House in Ohio's 9th Congressional District, with a Republican primary scheduled for May 5, 2026. She is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel who served in the Air National Guard as a Commander of a Security Forces Squadron, and held roles as a special agent and intelligence officer, including advising on national security policy at the Pentagon and the National Security Council. Nadeem grew up in a union household in Toledo and, as a child, was held captive in Iraq before being rescued by the FBI, experiences she has cited as motivating her military service after 9/11. She holds a bachelor's degree in criminology from the University of New Mexico and a master's in social work from the University of Southern California.
