Alissa Ellman is the Democratic nominee for New York's 24th Congressional District in the 2026 general election, having won her party's June 23, 2026 primary with 61.7% of the vote. She served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 2001 to 2007, then worked as a military contractor in Afghanistan before earning a bachelor's degree from Niagara University in 2013. Most recently she was a file clerk at the Buffalo VA until she was among roughly 2,500 VA employees terminated in 2025 by the Department of Government Efficiency. She will face Republican incumbent Claudia Tenney in the November 3, 2026 general election.
