Cait Conley is a fourth-generation Hudson Valley native and a former active-duty U.S. Army officer who served 16 years in the military, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as one of the first women in Special Operations leadership and earning three Bronze Stars. She is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and holds master's degrees from MIT and Harvard. Conley later served in the Biden administration as Director for Counterterrorism on the National Security Council and as a senior official at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). She is the Democratic nominee challenging incumbent Republican Mike Lawler for New York's 17th Congressional District in 2026.
