Patrick Halpin is the Democratic nominee for U.S. House in New York's 2nd Congressional District in 2026, challenging Republican incumbent Andrew Garbarino. He first won elected office at age 26 in the Suffolk County Legislature representing Lindenhurst, West Babylon, and Wyandanch, then became the first Democrat in more than a century to represent the Town of Babylon in the New York State Assembly. He went on to serve as the youngest Suffolk County Executive and later chaired the Suffolk County Water Authority. He currently chairs the Town of Babylon Planning Board.
