Adam Hamawy is a plastic surgeon and retired U.S. Army combat surgeon who is the Democratic nominee for New Jersey's 12th Congressional District in 2026, after winning the Democratic primary to succeed Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman. Born in Egypt and raised in Old Bridge, New Jersey, he earned his medical degree from the New Jersey Medical School, completed a plastic surgery fellowship at UT Southwestern, and later obtained an MBA from Rutgers-Camden. He served in the New Jersey Army National Guard and on active duty in Iraq, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and maintains a private practice in Princeton, New Jersey.
