Tahesha Way is a Democratic candidate who ran in the 2026 special Democratic primary for New Jersey's 11th Congressional District, finishing third. An attorney, she previously served as New Jersey's 34th Secretary of State (2018-2026) and as Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey (September 2023-January 2026), both under Governor Phil Murphy. She earlier served on the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders and as an administrative law judge. Way earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University and her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, and she lives in Wayne, New Jersey.
