Brett Lindstrom, born in Lincoln, Nebraska and raised in Omaha, earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2004, where he also played as a walk-on quarterback on the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team. He worked as a financial advisor with his father, Dan Lindstrom, and represented the 18th District in the Nebraska Legislature from 2015 to 2023. Lindstrom ran unsuccessfully for U.S. House in Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District in 2012 and for Governor of Nebraska in 2022; he filed again for the 2nd District House seat in 2026 before withdrawing in January 2026.
