Mark Conway (Democrat) ran for the U.S. House in Maryland's 7th Congressional District in 2026 and lost the Democratic primary on June 23, 2026 to incumbent Kweisi Mfume (FEC candidate ID H6MD07509). He has served on the Baltimore City Council representing the 4th district since December 10, 2020, when he succeeded Bill Henry. Originally from the Bronx and the son of two law-enforcement officers, he holds a bachelor's in government and politics and philosophy and a master's in public policy from the University of Maryland, College Park. Before elected office he worked as a CitiStat analyst and deputy director in the Baltimore mayor's office, then as executive director of the Baltimore Tree Trust and later as executive vice president of the Chesapeake Conservancy.
