Kevin R. Smith, a London attorney, filed to run in the 2026 Republican primary for Kentucky's 5th Congressional District, challenging Rep. Hal Rogers. A native of Clay County, he has served as a Kentucky delegate to the Republican National Committee in 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024, and previously worked as an aide to former RNC chair Mike Duncan and briefly to Sen.
