Richard R. Boykin is a Democratic candidate for U.S. House in Illinois's 7th Congressional District in 2026. He served on the Cook County Board of Commissioners representing the 1st district from 2014 to 2018, when he lost the Democratic primary to Brandon Johnson. Earlier in his career he served as chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Danny K. Davis from 1997 to 2006, and he is a lawyer by profession. He holds a B.S. from Central State University and a J.D. from the University of Dayton.
