Jason Friedman is the owner and former president of Friedman Properties, a River North, Chicago real estate firm, and a Democrat running in the March 17, 2026 primary for Illinois's 7th Congressional District seat being vacated by U.S. Rep. Danny Davis. Federal Election Commission records list his principal campaign committee as 'Friedman for Congress' with a Chicago, IL 60611 mailing address, and a Chicago Sun-Times/WBEZ review of his filings found he had raised roughly $1.8 million by early 2026, far more than any rival. His father, Albert Friedman, founded a major real estate firm long active in River North and was once known locally as the 'mayor of River North,' according to the Sun-Times.
