Matt Windschitl is a Republican member of the Iowa House of Representatives who represented District 17 (2007–2023) and District 15 (2023–2027). A resident of Missouri Valley, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2001 to 2009, including a tour in Iraq, and has worked as a Union Pacific Railroad conductor and as a gunsmith. He served as Iowa House Majority Leader from 2020 until August 2025, when he announced a campaign for Iowa's 4th Congressional District in the 2026 election, for which he registered with the FEC but did not appear on the Republican primary ballot.
