Zurit (Zuri) Horowitz is a Colorado Springs native and Democrat who filed to run as a challenger in the 2026 U.S. House race for Colorado's 5th Congressional District. She holds a B.A. in history and political science from Colorado College and an M.S. in occupational therapy from California State Dominguez Hills. She leads People Centered COS, an El Paso County transportation and housing advocacy group, and has served on Colorado Springs' Citizens Transportation Advisory Board since January 2022.
