He is a 52-year-old resident of Downtown Los Angeles who grew up in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from James Madison University in 1996. After moving to Los Angeles in 2004, he was hired by Yahoo as its director of marketing in 2006, worked for several other companies, and in October 2022 launched SUPR, a branding and marketing consultancy that he placed on hold to mount his first bid for elected office.
