Angela Gonzales-Torres is a lifelong Angeleno and community advocate who is on the ballot in the general election for California's 34th Congressional District on November 3, 2026, after advancing from the June 2, 2026 primary against incumbent Jimmy Gomez. She is the daughter of an auto mechanic whom the federal government deported to Mexico about 15 years ago, and her mother, a waitress, raised four daughters alone. She attended Pasadena City College, transferring to UCLA, and works as an academic counselor at Pasadena City College in its Community Overcoming Recidivism Through Education (CORE) program supporting formerly incarcerated students.
