Jake Rakov was a Democratic candidate for California's 32nd Congressional District in 2026, running as a primary challenger to his former boss, Rep. Brad Sherman. A Studio City resident, Rakov worked in Rep. Sherman's Washington office in 2017 as a deputy communications director and previously served on the steering committee of Los Angeles's Stonewall Democratic Club. He entered politics in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley in 2013, and suspended his campaign in September 2025 before the June 2026 primary.
